The GCP Platform (GCP) follows AWS quite closely, providing mostly equivalent services, but lags in market share (3rd place, after Microsoft Azure). We are looking at the Google Compute Engine (GCE) VM offerings, which is one of the most interesting in respect to configurability and range of different instance types. However, this variety makes it harder to choose the right one for the task, which is exactly what prompted me to start benchmarking all the available types. I’ve spent the past few days asking AI companies to convince me that the prospects for AI safety have not dimmed.
